AmeriNZ 337 – Resolution

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Despite a few obstacles, I’m back. First, though, I give the end of the story I talked about in the previous episode: New Zealand got a government. Mainly, though, I talke about the several obstacles to my being able to podcast (or blog, for that matter).

AmeriNZ 336 – Still waiting

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016The New Zealand General Election happened, but we don’t have a government yet. That’s my first, and main, topic today. I also talk a bit about a big commemoration of a famous battle in World War One. I have unusual feelings about it.

AmeriNZ 335 – Cliffhanger

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016This is the final podcast I recorded before the New Zealand General Election, and the short version is that the election’s a toss-up. I talk about why that is, some possible scenarios, and some of the things that may change that.

Special Note: To comply with New Zealand Election Law, I will not respond to any comments between the hours of 12am and 7pm NZST Saturday, September 23, 2017. I will attempt to turn on comment moderation, and if I’m successful, all comments will be held in a queue until after 7pm NZST Saturday, September 23, 2017 (maybe even later, because I’ll be watching election result coverage…)

AmeriNZ 334 – Still more change

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Change is continuing in the New Zealand election campaign, so much so that I could almost do a daily podcast on it and not run out of material. A lot has changed since my last podcast episode, and I mainly talk about that today. This episode has 98% less talk about the details of political polls!

AmeriNZ 333 – One Week

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016If a week is a long time in politics, we’ve been through a year this past week. This episode is mainly updating all the many changes since last week’s episode. Yes, there’s a lot of detail, but it sets the stage for what will happen in the weeks ahead.

This episode is a re-record, which isn’t unusual. The reason is, though.

AmeriNZ 332 – Changes

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Political upheaval, people leaving, people arriving—but this is about New Zealand. There were big changes this week, and there may be some more. This is my main topic this episode.

I’ve been sick lately, which kept me from podcasting and blogging. This was my third bad cold this winter, but that’s happened before. Still, Spring is on the way—eventually.

AmeriNZ 331 – Newsy Zealand

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016There’s been a lot of news here in New Zealand, but the two biggest stories were probably not widely reported overseas. So, first I begin talking about sport (yes, really!): The America’s Cup and the British and Irish Lions Tour to New Zealand. I mainly talk about stuff that provides some background and context to those stories, and why they matter for New Zealand.

The New Zealand general election is drawing ever closer, and a new poll is out. How did National and Labour fare? How did New Zealand First, which I talked about last time, do? And, what does all of this imply for the results of the election?

AmeriNZ 330 – Sunny Day

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016TWO episodes within one week? What is this madness?! Well, I had some new audio equipment I wanted to try out, so why not do a real podcast instead of merely tests? That’s what I thought, anyway.

Today’s title refers to the fact that today is our dog Sunny’s ninth birthday. She even says hello at one point. Apart from that, it’s talk about New Zealand’s upcoming elections. Finally, a few updates, including a little bit about what equipment I was testing and why.
