AmeriNZ 217 – We’re different here

amerinz_podcast_150x150I start out telling you about petrol prices in New Zealand. New data suggests it’s not so bad. The main topic today is how New Zealand and Australia are very different from the US when it comes to religion in politics. The case of an Australian politician’s fall starts the discussion, and I add my own comments, also relating it all to New Zealand. Speaking of comments, listener comments let me discuss some other topics. Back later this week.

I’ll be hosting a special Pride 48 info show live in Pride48.com Tuesdays at 8pm EDT right up until the event.

AmeriNZ 216 – Recovery Mode

amerinz_podcast_150x150I’m in recovery—my cold is passing! I tell you what I’ve been up to (busy—a surprise, I know). Then I tell you a bit about Pride 48 and some of what I’ve been working on. This podcast is now played on Pride 48.com. It means that I MUST now do two podcasts a week! I explain why.

From there it’s some bits from the New Zealand news: A trans-friendly proposal for the next NZ Census, the budget and some observations about NZ politics. I play an example to talk about how NZ journalists are far less deferential to elected politicians than US journalists are.

Comments round out this episode before I’m done for this week. I’ll be back twice next week!

AmeriNZ 215 – Sore throat

amerinz_podcast_150x150I have a bit of a sore throat today and I’m kind of out of sorts. So, instead of a real subject I tell you what I’ve been up to and update a couple things from earlier episodes. Actually, there’s a subject within all that. Back next week, hopefully more focused, too.

Archerr will be doing a live show on Pride 48 at 7:30pm Thursday US time (11:30am Friday NZ time).

AmeriNZ 214 – Unusual subject

amerinz_podcast_150x150It’s my busiest week, but I took some time out to talk with you. I have a very unusual subject this week, which is introduced by a voicemail message. To start out, I tell you a story from my childhood, which then leads into the main topic. Have any other podcasters talked about this topic?
