AmeriNZ 366 – Expected results

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016I managed to complete an episode in June!!! Well, that’s something.

I give some advice to my fellow Americans in the wake of the Roe decision because I have a very particular perspective. Then, on to light topics. What happened to the project sorting files? Good things. What about that fatigue? More good things. Well, the first 12-months with my solar power system have passed, and the results outshine everything else I talked about. In my opinion.

AmeriNZ 346 – Busy April

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Today was my last chance to do a podcast episode for April. I met the challenge! It was an unusually full month, even if there wasn’t all that much “big” stuff to talk about. Still, I find a few updates to pass along.

AmeriNZ 343 – Autumn begins

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Only ten days and another episode! And, it’s the first day of Autumn. Time to update something I talked about two episodes ago, then it’s on to some things in the news that happened since the previous episode. A couple housekeeping things and that’s it.

AmeriNZ 341 – Providing answers

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Last chance to post an episode before the USA’s Thanksgiving holiday, so here I am! I begin talking about the Pike River mine disaster, because we’ve had a major development. Then, it’s a sad and fraught story about division and a huge fight in Auckland’s “rainbow communities”. I also talk about how I’ve had to explain the USA’s recent elections to New Zealanders, which isn’t new, actually. Then I have a question and some comments from the previous episode. Consider this the aural equivalent of a Thanksgiving feast!

AmeriNZ 302 – I survived

I’ve been busier busy than usual. First, we got married. Then, there was the reorganising of “stuff”. There will be more of that. In NZ news, the Labour Leadership was decided, and the main islands have names. I’ll be back sooner rather than later, but I’m not silly enough to promise when that may be.

AmeriNZ 299 – Resumption

Today’s episode is all about catching up on what I’ve missed over the past few episodes. It clears the decks so that we can just carry on from here.

First up, I talk a bit about marriage equality in New Zealand (and a little bit beyond…). Comments and questions prompted this segment.

Next up, it’s all about the feedback I received regarding my comments about Pride 48. Wow! Quite a lot of responses! I appreciate every one, and I respond to them. Thanks for the feedback!!

Well, we’re all caught up now; let’s move forward, eh?

AmeriNZ 298 – Equality

Today I have one topic: Marriage equality arriving in New Zealand one week ago today. I start by telling you about some of my impressions the night. I also give you my full impressions of what New Zealand’s far right did—and is up to now! After some slight diversion into other NZ politics, I tell you about what happens now. One thing I know for sure is that this battle is over: The rightwing cannot repeal or even revisit this issue. Kiwis just don’t do that. Finally, I tell you the background to that video of the vote.

AmeriNZ 296 – Preparing

I start today talking about New Zealand broadcaster Paul Holmes, who died today. Meanwhile, we’re waiting for stuff. Then, I give an update about the select committee hearing oral submissions on the marriage equality bill. I have some strong views; you may disagree, so feel free to comment. A record number of Kiwis are leaving for Australia. But the Big Mac Index says the NZ dollar is pretty good.

AmeriNZ 294 – Experimental

I begin today with a “Parliament Update”: It started with an update on the marriage equality bill, then moved on to the bill to force charter schools on us, submissions for which close next week. After that, I play various audio files sent to me, and comment on what they say as well as how to use those methods (don’t worry, there won’t be a quiz on that). If you send me a contact request on Skype, please tell me you’re real so I know you’re not a spammer.

Jason and I recorded a new 2Political Podcast episode this week, and it’s now posted.
