pride48_125x125Nigel and I did ANOTHER live show on Pride 48 Sunday night, and this is the recording of that show. It’s a different kind of podcast—again—and we had a lot of fun. LurryDean joins us, too.

Plans are to repeat this not just next year, but also in 6 months or so. In the meantime, several podcasters are going to continue doing live shows, and this podcast may be one of them. I’ll let you know in advance if that happens.

amerinz_podcast_150x150I’m podcasting today despite my cold; I’m a giver. Today, I start by talking about swine flu, which is now a very big deal in Australia. Then, I update the story about the alleged “HIV predator”. That lets me mention a couple things about legal stuff in New Zealand. Finally, New Zealand has been ranked the most peaceful nation in the world. A comment, and I’m done.

amerinz_podcast_150x150I begin today with a bit about swine flu in New Zealand, since it’s been in the news internationally. Then it’s on to a normal topic, one suggested by a listener: How I was able to adapt to New Zealand’s more British-based spelling and word usage. A phone message and written comments finish this episode.

Special note: After I recorded this, three of the Auckland flu cases I mentioned were confirmed as swine flu. There are now fourteen cases of Influenza A in Auckland, one of which is a person on the same flight as the previous 12 cases. There are a further 31 possible cases of Influenza A in New Zealand. Authorities currently have 179 people around the country in quarantine. These numbers will change.
