AmeriNZ 387 – Fading month

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Six weeks in a row—and one full month—without missing a week. Who am I?! I’ve been busy “adulting” over the past week, especially changing electricity suppliers, something that took a surprising amount of my own energy. I persevered. Then I talk about something I thought might have happened by today, but it didn’t, so I talk about the non-event and why it will be so important once it does happen. That’s it for June!

AmeriNZ 380 – Autumnal revue

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016It’s definitely Autumn in New Zealand: Days getting shorter, trees dropping their leaves—and more rain? We’ll know soon. Meanwhile, an important government review was released yesterday.

AmeriNZ 365 – So, anyway…

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016There are reasons I’ve been away, and I talk about that today. FIrst though, I announce a delay in talking about the results of the first full year of solar power at my house. There’s a reason for that: I forgot something.

I changed the “theme” used on the AmeriNZ Podcast site to one that’s simpler and less cluttered. Hopefully it’ll also fix some of the problems I’ve had in recent months.

AmeriNZ 362 – Changes aplenty

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016New Zealand has just made some changes to our Covid-19 rules, and more are on the way. That’s my main topic today, together with my view on why it’s a good idea, as well as the reasons it’s necessary. I also have a brief update about my previous episode. Back on Monday! (NZ time, of course…)

AmeriNZ 355 – Sun cents

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Not for the first time, I decided to re-record because I didn’t like what I’d done. This time, that allowed me to add more stuff to talk about..

After the Covid and NZ news, I update where things are at with my solar energy system. After that, I talk about my recent guest spot on ArcherRadio. That leads me to talk about some changes I’m going to make in what I do on this podcast.

A new guest spot

I forgot to share this at the time it was released, but I was a guest on a podcast, the first time in nearly two years. It’s episode 8 of the recently re-booted “This week in Gay” podcast, and is called “LGBT life in New Zealand with Arthur”, though as is often the case, the conversation was quite wide ranging, with lots about New Zealand in general, too.

I’ve known the host, George, for many years now, and we’re both part of the Pride48 group of LGBT and LGBT-friendly podcasters, so it was like chatting with an old friend. I said that the podcast is a reboot, and as it happens, the premiere of the original version of the podcast back in June, 2011, though the recording is no longer available (I may have a copy somewhere).

In any event, I had a good time, and I’d like to thank George for having me on.

AmeriNZ 349 – A Return

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016This is a return for me, though what that means, exactly is up in the air right now. This episode is mainly about telling the story of the tragic reason why I haven’t felt like podcasting, something that make me uncertain what the future holds. This is also the first time I’ve read something long-ish that I’ve written (my episodes are normally unscripted).

I guess I’m back now. Let’s see what happens next.

AmeriNZ 345 – 12 Years Later

Today is the 12th Podoversary of the AmeriNZ Podcast, which is significant, even if the specific number isn’t, because both the podcast and I are still here. I talk about that today, but first I have some updates to last week’s episode first. This episode isn’t really a celebratory episode as such, but at the end I have an audio montage I created for this episode. Wendy made me do it.

AmeriNZ 339 – Winter ills

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016This is a short episode, mostly to tell you about something special I did today. I’ll be sharing something on this podcast feed in a couple days. I also have some health updates, including that I had two winter colds. There are also a couple updates to what I talked about last time.

AmeriNZ 338 – Still more changes

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Despite a few obstacles, I’m back. Again. Again. Well, it was one month sooner this time, so, small victories, right?! I start out talking about a new baby, then changes to this podcast and all things AmeriNZ, and to me, too. Lots of things are changing! I have details.
