This is my last podcast for May, and we’re about to have a holiday weekend—(Every) Queen’s Birthday. Today I start by telling you about some NZ news, including the arrest of an alleged “HIV predator”. The Prop 8 decision has had some reaction in this part of the world, where the debate is different. Today I also share my feeling on how we move forward.

We begin with Jason’s special days, but today’s episode is mostly a discussion with our first guest, Peter (aka epilonious). We look at civility on the Internet, the origins and implications of the lack of civility. It’s a wide-ranging discussion, and other political issues come up, too, including how to deal with religious arguments. We wrap up with our advice and strategies for avoiding “uncivility wars” on the Internet.
Episode 4 continues our regular schedule of podcasting every other week (the next episode will be the week of April 20). After special news, we talk about President Obama’s trip to Europe. That leads to a wide-ranging discussion of international relations before we move on to talk about the auto industry. That leads to a concrete example of why it’s so important to the world that the US fixes its economy and gets credit flowing again. Comments on a variety of topics round out this episode. Back in 2 weeks!
