I begin today with a “Parliament Update”: It started with an update on the marriage equality bill, then moved on to the bill to force charter schools on us, submissions for which close next week. After that, I play various audio files sent to me, and comment on what they say as well as how to use those methods (don’t worry, there won’t be a quiz on that). Some excellent news today—marriage equality in New Zealand is one step closer, so I talk about that first. In fact, it’s the whole reason I did a podcast today. I remembered a couple other updates (which is pretty excellent for me), and Jake, who was doing poorly last week is doing very well. Excellent. Finally, a comment let’s me say why I’ve used a one-word title for this episode, too. Excellent.

Today I begin by talking about a few stories from the New Zealand news before moving on to my main topic: Statistics New Zealand has examined “some common beliefs about population in New Zealand to see whether they hold any truth.” I think their mythbusting is interesting, so I share some of that today.

Then, I conclude a story I talked about last time, one that only concluded in the middle of last week. I mention a Christchurch heritage building charity, and looked it up before posting this episode (link below). And other stuff, too.

Then I talk about something I’m working on before moving on to voice messages. The first message lets me update what was the main topic recently—including a very weird development. A Wednesday episode? And two in one week? Has the world gone mad?! No, I just decided I may as well podcast again this week to start getting back into the swing of things. I start with an update on my projects (includes “how to” information!). Basically, we’re all go! From there I talk about some things in the New Zealand news, starting with a couple things about Christchurch. Then, it’s on to major NZ political controversy, which lets me point out shortcomings of the current National Party-led government. Finally, some news relating New Zealand and the United States. It’s an action-packed episode! A voice message closes it out.
