AmeriNZ 390 – Networks galore

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016It’s just a short catch-up today, beginning with an update to last week’s main topic—and the news is good! After that, just a couple things about social networks I’m on.

AmeriNZ 343 – Autumn begins

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Only ten days and another episode! And, it’s the first day of Autumn. Time to update something I talked about two episodes ago, then it’s on to some things in the news that happened since the previous episode. A couple housekeeping things and that’s it.

AmeriNZ 300 – Matariki

I’m all over the place today—appropriate, in some ways, for the three hundredth episode. Today’s is a normal episode: I begin by talking about some things going on in New Zealand, including Matariki, and also some things going on with me. Next, it’s feedback, starting with an audio message. This lets me talk about a few more things. Thanks for the feedback!!

AmeriNZ 294 – Experimental

I begin today with a “Parliament Update”: It started with an update on the marriage equality bill, then moved on to the bill to force charter schools on us, submissions for which close next week. After that, I play various audio files sent to me, and comment on what they say as well as how to use those methods (don’t worry, there won’t be a quiz on that). If you send me a contact request on Skype, please tell me you’re real so I know you’re not a spammer.

Jason and I recorded a new 2Political Podcast episode this week, and it’s now posted.

AmeriNZ 252 – Septimana horribilis

It was a terrible week last week (hence, the name of this episode). I start out talking about that first. Then, I tell you some things that are coming up (Easter is a four-day holiday weekend in New Zealand). I may record with Nigel!

My main topic today is news about big moves made by the New Zealand Parliament just today. That leads into a talk of some appalling tactics by the National Party-led government.

Once again, phone and written comments let me expand on the issues discussed.

AmeriNZ 250 – Reconnected

I begin today with a silly tale of woe, Modern Edition. It’s why I haven’t podcasted lately. After that, I talk a bit about what I’ve been up to. Then, I share a couple items from the news, but I also have a lot of comments to catch up on—plus news about Pride 48.

I’ll be joining Nigel for his The Third Colony show on Saturday, March 26 at 9pm EDT (Americas; 2pm Sunday, February 27 NZDT).

AmeriNZ 248 – Dark Days

This is a special edition of the AmeriNZ Podcast: All about the Christchurch Earthquake. I share a few observations and offer a few suggestions, but mostly I share what the prime ministers of various Commonwealth countries had to say, including the New Zealand prime minister.

Back next week with a normal podcast.

I’ll be joining Nigel for his The Third Colony show on Saturday, February 26 at 9pm EST (Americas; 3pm Sunday, February 27 NZDT).

AmeriNZ 235 – Live on Pride 48 Again

Today’s show starts a regular series of live shows on Pride 48. I’ll be alternating weeks, roughly, with Honey of My Honey Wears Plaid.

I’m out of practice with these live shows, and thought I’d try some new settings. Well, that didn’t work too well, and the sound on the first 8 minutes is pretty awful, until I re-set my settings and the sound is less awful. It took me awhile to sort out the sound problems. This will get better over time.

Anyway (that’s for HatM), we started out talking about disaster preparations and then just followed the conversation wherever it lead. Joining us later was John Ong, who is one of the first gay podcasters back when podcasting began. We were also joined for awhile by Satyr69. After we finished, we continued on talking with John Ong who did a special show about podcasting.

I’ll be back for another AmeriNZ LIVE podcast on Pride 48 this Thursday, September 23 at 7:30pm EDT (Americas, 11:30am Friday, September 24 in NZ). Honey from My Honey Wears Plaid will be back on September 30.

AmeriNZ 218 – Lunchtime

amerinz_podcast_150x150No food was consumed in the making of this podcast. The name comes from the fact that I gave up my lunch break today to record this episode. Such sacrifices I make! Seriously, I’m just really busy and needed a break, so this was it.

I begin by talking about some problems I had organising Pride 48 and how I felt about that. Next, I give recent updates on some stories I originally talked about last year. A US airline will be flying to New Zealand. An email asks a food question (See? Lunchtime!) and shares a bizarre news story. A phone comment lets me talk about US/NZ differences and such.

I talk more in-depth about Pride 48 and how YOU can make a promo—it’s easy! Related to that, I’m now on Audio-boo: My user name is AmeriNZ (big surprise, I know).

I co-host a special Pride 48 info show live in Pride48.com Tuesdays at 8pm EDT right up until the event.

AmeriNZ 206 – Wednesthursday

amerinz_podcast_150x150The AmeriNZ Podcast’s Anniversary Month continues! Each recorded audio podcast this month will have at least one question and answer. All you have to do is write down the question number and the correct answer. Once you have five correct questions/answers, send them to me by fax or email. Every correct entry will go in the draw to win a Kiwi Prize Pack of things from New Zealand. You can enter as often as you like, but each entry must have five different correct questions/answers. I also mix it up a bit, so be on the lookout for extra questions. All entries must be sent by Midnight (Eastern American Time) on Friday, March 26, 2010.

Okay, so I skipped yesterday. I make up for it today, question-wise. After talking a bit about how the NZ House of Representatives operates differently than the US one does. Then, I talk a bit about some things from the news: Mining conservation land, Auckland International Airport and “Blog Idol”. I also talk a bit more about nz.history.net.nz.

Another recorded episode tomorrow.

I’ll be doing a live group show on Pride 48 starting at 8:00pm Eastern North American time on Thursday, March 25 (1:00pm Friday, March 26 New Zealand time). You can also join other listeners in the chatroom, where you can also ask questions or make comments as the show is streamed. Archerr will be hosting the live show the following week.
