AmeriNZ 281 – Colds

We’ve been cold and had colds—not fun. But today I begin with a little update on what we’ve been up to, including some technological stuff (yeah, it surprises me, too). I move on to phone messages that allow me to comment further. Then to wrap up this episode, I pay tribute to my friend, known on this podcast as Lord Byron of Illinois, who died June 10. I talk a bit, too, about online friendships being real friendships—because I think they are. And that includes all of you who I know only through this podcast, by the way.

AmeriNZ 280 – Nearing Winter

I begin today by talking about a New Zealand thing that occurred to me just before I started recording. Then, I conclude a story I talked about last time, one that only concluded in the middle of last week. I mention a Christchurch heritage building charity, and looked it up before posting this episode (link below). And other stuff, too.

At the end, there’s a mention of Pride 48.

AmeriNZ 279 – Proper Words

I begin today by talking about what happened in New Zealand after President Obama declared his support for marriage equality. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Then I talk about something I’m working on before moving on to voice messages. The first message lets me update what was the main topic recently—including a very weird development. At the end, there’s a mention of Pride 48.

AmeriNZ 278 – Full of GO

A Wednesday episode? And two in one week? Has the world gone mad?! No, I just decided I may as well podcast again this week to start getting back into the swing of things. I start with an update on my projects (includes “how to” information!). Basically, we’re all go! From there I talk about some things in the New Zealand news, starting with a couple things about Christchurch. Then, it’s on to major NZ political controversy, which lets me point out shortcomings of the current National Party-led government. Finally, some news relating New Zealand and the United States. It’s an action-packed episode! A voice message closes it out.

AmeriNZ 277 – Forward to the past

In this rare Monday episode I update where we are, and where we are not. This has been such a stressful period, but it is over. So, today I tell you where we’re headed. A voice message rounds out this episode.

AmeriNZ 276 – Sixth Sense

In this full episode, I update where we are, what we’re doing, and why this has been such a difficult period. The story is far from over. There are other things we’ve been up to, and I weave that into the story, before going on to New Zealand news. Voice messages round out this episode—it’s all here! Well, a lot of it, at least.

I may not be able to podcast next week, due to my big monthly work project; if not, I’ll be back after Easter.

AmeriNZ 274 – I have returned

And now I’m back—again. Again. I tell you what I’ve been up to over the past two months, and what’s kept me from podcasting (and blogging). We have been very busy with the house hunting and all the related work. I’ve found it very trying—and it’s not over yet. Still, this week is a quiet one, so I’m resting up.

AmeriNZ 273 – Gearing up

And now I’m easing back into podcasting, so I start with a couple items from the NZ news. Then, it’s on to the new ongoing topic. From there, a voicemail message allows me to expand on topics I talked about in the first part.

I’ll soon revisit the topic of moving to New Zealand, something I talked about years ago. Curious about any aspect of moving to New Zealand? Let me know!

AmeriNZ 272 – Holidays end

The first podcast episode for 2012! This is a relatively short episode as I update things, beginning with a recap of our holidays. From there it’s a little update on what we’ve been up to, and what some of my fellow podcasters are up to. Voicemails round out this episode.

AmeriNZ 271 – Aftermath

I’m finally back! Today I begin with a wrap-up of the election. The results were mixed, but to me they were still interesting. After a couple voice messages I have one last story: “The Cloud” on Queens Wharf was good for New Zealand.

I don’t expect to record the last week of December or the first week of January.

In early January, I’m going to revisit the topic of moving to New Zealand, something I talked about years ago. Curious about any aspect of moving to New Zealand? Let me know!
