Today’s episode is weeks in the making—meaning, I started it innumerable times (you have no idea). I begin with some updates: The local elections, then updates on a couple politicians who have fallen from grace—they’re very different in every way. Next, I move on to some talk about podcasting, Pride 48 and some of the results of last week’s live show. There were some things that came out of that live show that I‘ll be adding. Then it’s on to the main topic, which begins with a lowercase “r”. There’s a lot to that topic, actually.

Today’s title is derived from a little Internet fad, which I talk about first. Then, they’ll let any riffraff live in New Zealand. An almost American-style change to the NZ income tax has been proposed. American-style climate change deniers are grandstanding. The liquor laws may yet change. The local elections are coming up fast, and important deadlines fall on Friday of this week. Then after comments I share a little before ending this episode.
I have both New Zealand updates AND a short topic today. Not only that, it’s my second podcast this week! I can’t remember the last time I did that. After NZ news (including an update), it’s on to today’s short topic: There are some unusual things I miss about the US, and today’s show art shows one (thanks for the photo, Lord Byron of Illinois!). I talk about that and a few other random things—not the sort of things that most people think about. Comments let me further comment on an earlier topic.
