AmeriNZ 372 – Talking in whispers

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016I begin this episode with an overview of New Zealand’s recent local government elections: What message do the voters send? What does it imply for the general election next year? I’ve done a mini-series of posts on my blog (links below) if you’re interested in more detail. The stuff I talk about in this episode leads on to a brief discussion of some fringe political activity.

Then I talk about some of the mini-projects I did recently.

AmeriNZ 370 – Springing in the rain

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016This is a general sort of update today, starting with the inspiration for the title of this episode. After that, was last week as bad as I thought it might be?

Today I talk a bit about delays to my projects, one in particular, and why that particular one was so difficult for me to deal with.

AmeriNZ 367 – Doing things

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Back again, after an unplanned break. I start this episode talking about how I got my second Covid Booster. Then I update where I’ve been, literally and figuratively. The unplanned break turned out to be a good thing. I also talk about a small project I took on since I last recorded.

AmeriNZ 366 – Expected results

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016I managed to complete an episode in June!!! Well, that’s something.

I give some advice to my fellow Americans in the wake of the Roe decision because I have a very particular perspective. Then, on to light topics. What happened to the project sorting files? Good things. What about that fatigue? More good things. Well, the first 12-months with my solar power system have passed, and the results outshine everything else I talked about. In my opinion.

AmeriNZ 363 – Fifteen Years

Today is the Fifteenth Anniversary of the AmeriNZ Podcast! I’m as surprised as anyone that this anniversary has arrived.

Today I just talk about the podcast, the things that shaped the way the podcast changed over the years, and some of the challenges I face. I’ve never talked about a lot of this stuff, certainly not all in one place. It was only when I thought back on all this that I realised how much I’ve gone through to get to this point. Kinda proud of myself, to be honest.

AmeriNZ 358 – On hold again

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016Last week I had one set of updates about Covid in New Zealand, and then everything changed a couple days later—and then kept changing. I talk about that first, before talking about some sad news I didn’t mention last week, followed by an update on one of my projects.

AmeriNZ 348 – Midyear

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016We’re in the second half on 2019 already! I talk briefly about that before going to NZ news, specifically, some recent changes that will affect tourists coming to New Zealand. There was also a weird rightwing social media freakout over a cake. Plus a couple other stories, along with a “me” update.

AmeriNZ 347 – Unexpected reboot

amerinz_podcast_1400x1400-2016
Three weeks since my last episode, but since then I had another helath adventure. And today there was big news on a story I’ve talked about several times. All that and comments, too! Other than that, it’s an ordinary episode, really.

AmeriNZ 345 – 12 Years Later

Today is the 12th Podoversary of the AmeriNZ Podcast, which is significant, even if the specific number isn’t, because both the podcast and I are still here. I talk about that today, but first I have some updates to last week’s episode first. This episode isn’t really a celebratory episode as such, but at the end I have an audio montage I created for this episode. Wendy made me do it.
