AmeriNZ 218 – Lunchtime

amerinz_podcast_150x150No food was consumed in the making of this podcast. The name comes from the fact that I gave up my lunch break today to record this episode. Such sacrifices I make! Seriously, I’m just really busy and needed a break, so this was it.

I begin by talking about some problems I had organising Pride 48 and how I felt about that. Next, I give recent updates on some stories I originally talked about last year. A US airline will be flying to New Zealand. An email asks a food question (See? Lunchtime!) and shares a bizarre news story. A phone comment lets me talk about US/NZ differences and such.

I talk more in-depth about Pride 48 and how YOU can make a promo—it’s easy! Related to that, I’m now on Audio-boo: My user name is AmeriNZ (big surprise, I know).

AmeriNZ 217 – We’re different here

amerinz_podcast_150x150I start out telling you about petrol prices in New Zealand. New data suggests it’s not so bad. The main topic today is how New Zealand and Australia are very different from the US when it comes to religion in politics. The case of an Australian politician’s fall starts the discussion, and I add my own comments, also relating it all to New Zealand. Speaking of comments, listener comments let me discuss some other topics. Back later this week.

AmeriNZ 211 – Finding Things

First, there’s the new addition to the family, Bella. I tell you about her, and how she came to live with us. Then it’s on to something I mentioned in my last regular episode: A store in Auckland that sells imported American products. AmeriNZ 209 – Fourth Season Begins

amerinz_podcast_150x150This is the start of the “fourth season” of the AmeriNZ Podcast! I start today with some breaking news. Also, an American product will be made in New Zealand (for us, of course). It’s a four-day holiday weekend, and we’ll be busy—having fun!

I have a lot of work on right now, but I’m also working on the Pride 48 live podcasting marathon and getting ready for that I have some updates on something I’ll be doing, something in the news and something I think is interesting (in a funny kind of way). You may need to wash your ears afterward.

All you have to do is write down the question number and the correct answer. Once you have five correct questions/answers, send them to me by fax or email. Okay, so I skipped yesterday. I make up for it today, question-wise. After talking a bit about how the NZ House of Representatives operates differently than the US one does. Then, I talk a bit about some things from the news: Mining conservation land, Auckland International Airport and “Blog Idol”. I also talk a bit more about nz.history.net.nz.
